Matthew Hahn, professor in the Indiana University College of Arts and Sciences' Department of Biology, was awarded the Indiana University Bicentennial Medal in recognition of his efforts in establishing the COVID-19 mitigation testing laboratory on the Bloomington campus. The lab not only saves the university money, but it also allows IU to spot any trends and take appropriate public health actions to avoid outbreaks in a much more timely manner than it could by using a third-party testing facility.
Hahn joins eleven other faculty members from the Department of Biology who have received the IU Bicentennial Medal in recognition of distinguished service to Indiana University.
