They do it when they’re just several months old. They do it all by themselves, at night. And they return back to the place that they were the previous summer.

Fudickar, formerly a research associate in Ellen Ketterson's lab, continues to study the regulation of seasonal traits as a research scientist with the recently launched Environmental Resilience Institute at Indiana University. The institute is funded by the university's Grand Challenges Program, an initiative that was created to inspire researchers to take on some of today's most critical problems.
