Professor Volker Brendel has been named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, a distinction that recognizes outstanding contributions to the progress of science and research. The AAAS citation of merit for Brendel reads: "For distinguished contributions to genomics and bioinformatics, particularly with respect to development of computational and cyberinfrastructure tools for analysis of plant genes and genomes."
