IU alumna Amanda Kyle Gibson has been awarded the Society for the Study of Evolution's 2018 Theodosis Dobzhansky Prize, the biggest award for early career evolutionary biologists.
Gibson was a member of Curt Lively's lab and received her Ph.D. in Evolution, Ecology, and Behavior from IU in 2016.
She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Emory University studying the evolution and ecology of infectious diseases.
Gibson begins an assistant professorship in the Department of Biology at the University of Virginia in 2019.
The Theodosius Dobzhansky Prize is awarded annually by the Society for the Study of Evolution to recognize the accomplishments and future promise of an outstanding young evolutionary biologist.
