BEFORE submitting Ph.D. defense information to the Department of Biology, you MUST announce your defense officially to the University Graduate School via the PhD Defense Announcement eDoc. This eDoc should be submitted at least 45 days before your defense date to allow time for routing to the UGS. Once the UGS approves your defense date, you can use our form below to announce your defense to the department.

- Your advisor’s name
- Day and time of seminar
- Title and abstract for your seminar
- Building and room number and/or Zoom registration or meeting link (and Zoom password, if applicable); NOTE: IU recommends requiring participants to register for your meeting; see https://kb.iu.edu/d/ativ#require-register
- A photo of yourself
