Blatchley Nature Study Club Scholarship

2020 Blatchley Nature Study Club Scholar: Zoe Dinges

Zoe Dinges is a fifth-year Ph.D. student in Distinguished Professor Curt Lively's lab. She studies the Red Queen hypothesis, which explains the maintenance of sexual reproduction despite costs relative to asexual reproduction. Zoe will use the award to genotype samples, which will provide a test of the key prediction of the Red Queen hypothesis. In addition to research, Zoe also enjoys volunteering as a mentor in the IU Groups Scholars Program for first-generation, underrepresented students and in the IU Biology Outreach Program which brings science to local schools and the general public.
