I am passionate about mentoring undergraduates in research and working with incoming students. I am an evolutionary biologist and an animal behaviorist. Overall, my research focuses on how new variation arises within a population. My past work focused on evolution and population genetics in katydids and frogs. At IU, I will be working with ASURE students on a new system: acoustically orienting parasitoid flies. We will use a variety of tools and techniques to learn about the cause and effect of a recent host expansion in these flies.
