Michael R. Tansey Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Assistant(s) Award Undergraduate Requirements

Michael R. Tansey Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Assistant(s) Award

The department annually recognizes an Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (UTA) who is nominated for exceptional work. This year’s award honors mycologist Michael Tansey, who is known for his dedicated teaching and his mentoring of undergraduates. Tansey has been on the IUB Department of Biology faculty since 1971, and has received departmental, campus, and national awards for his service to students.

Thanks to recent anonymous donations, we are able to recognize either an individual UTA, or a UTA team, from a specific section, who taught a Department of Biology course during the 2016 Summer Session, the 2016 Fall Semester, or the 2017 Spring Semester.

Note

Not open for applications; the department asks faculty members to nominate those UTAs, or UTA teams, who have made outstanding contributions to the department’s teaching mission.
