- Ph.D., Integrative Biology, Michigan State University and the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station, 2004
Given her research background in aquatic ecology and her passion for the environment, Tara considers herself very fortunate to teach undergraduate courses in ecology and environmental biology. She finds it crucial to instill in our future citizens and scientists an environmental awareness and a deep appreciation for nature and the species with which we share our planet. She aims to inspire such insight by engaging students in hands-on activities as well as discussions of the ecological and socio-political nature of our changing world.
Tara received her Ph.D. in Ecology in 2004 from Michigan State University. Since moving to Bloomington in 2006, she has worked as a full-time mom, a free-lance editor, and an instructor in the Department of Biology. She began working with Biology Outreach in the fall of 2011.
